As founder and chief executive of mental health charity SANE, Marjorie Wallace has spent much of her life campaigning relentlessly for her cause. Nadia Raafat talks to the Highgate resident about her life and work.

Marjorie Wallace could be described as a 'romantic crusader'. For 20 years as an award-winning journalist, acclaimed author, and the founder and chief executive of mental health charity SANE she has been campaigning to improve the lives of people with mental illness. In that time she has heard some extremely distressing stories of mental torment and anguish. Yet she has never told her own story.
