in her career as a campaigning journalist, Marjorie Wallace, 51, made her name writing for the Sunday Times about the scandals of thalidomide and poverty-stricken housing estates. She is probably best known for her book and television play, The Silent Twins, about June and the late Jennifer Gibbons, who were visited by Marjorie throughout their incarceration in Broadmoor. She is director of Sane (Schizophrenia – A National Emergency), the charity for the mentally ill. She has three sons: Sacha, 22, Stefan, 18, and Justin, 16, from her marriage to the Polish count, Andrew Skarbek. Today she shares her life with the eminent author, journalist and broadcaster, Tom Margerison, with whom she has a daughter, Sophia, 10. They live in Highgate. Sacha recently signed a five-album contract with EMI.
